Assessments
  • CONTINUOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION
    • Our School is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, which is committed to Equity and Excellence.
    • CBSE is replacing the traditional examination system with Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).
    • CCE covers both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic aspects of education for holistic development of students.
    • The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced the scheme of CCE in its Schools in a phased manner.
  • CCE was implemented for Primary Classes in 2004. In our School all Assessments are focused on the positive aspects of the child’s development during this stage. The same is reflected in the Report Card given at the end of the Term.
  • The CCE scheme was extended to Classes VI – VIII in 2006. In September 2010 the Board recommended a Report Card Format with detailed guidelines for Classes VI – VIII. The same has been adopted from the First Term of this session itself.
  • CCE was implemented in its strengthened form for Classes IX & X with effect from October 2009. Grading at Secondary School Level has been introduced from academic year 2009-10. Accordingly Class X students of last year batch received the statement of ‘subject wise performance’ having ‘Grades’ only.
  • As per the Board’s suggestion, all Assessments are both Formative and Summative.

Formative Assessment
In Classes VI – X, two Formative Assessments per term are being conducted to assess the teaching learning of the syllabus. Besides pen-pencil test, variety of other Assessment tools are being used such as Oral and Listening Comprehensions, Written Assignments, Debates, Recitation, Research Projects, Multiple Choice Questions, lab Activities, Models, Charts, Power Point Presentations, etc.

Summative Assessment
Summative Assessment is carried out at the end of a course of learning in a Term. It measures or ‘sum-up’ how much a student learned from the course. It is a graded test i.e. it is marked according to a scale or set of grades.
